Primary 1 said good bye to Mrs Gray on Friday before she left for Canada. We wish her and her family well in her new life. We hope that she has settled in to her new home and look forward to hearing from her.
August 26 2010
I have had an email this week from Mrs Gray saying that she is missing everyone in Arky, but is beginning to settle into life in Canada. She is making new friends and send her best wishes to everyone here.

ICT Fundraising
This year we are raising money to improve our ICT resources in the school. We have a programme of events which will help to raise funds for this. We have already had our Wacky Hair Day which raised £200. So far we have raised around £1500. Thank you to everyone who has sent in their money.

Smartie Appeal
We had our Smartie Tube launch on the 16th of November. All pupils have been issued with a tube of Smarties which they can eat then fill the empty tube up with 20 pences. This will hopefully raise around £3000 which would be wonderful! Thank you to all those who have already returned the Smartie tubes with money in them.

Christmas Fayre

Our annual Christmas Fayre was held on Saturday the 5th of December at 10 o'clock. We had all our favourite stalls, such as toys and games, books, cake and candy, groceries, fancy goods ..... and of course a special visitor was there to talk to the children!!! Lots of people came to the Fayre and we raised over £1500. So a big thank you to all who helped.

The Winning Team
Thanks to the Renfrew Rotary Club for organising the event and it is hoped that this is the start of an excellent relationship with this Rotary Club.
On the very last evening of term, Mrs Pollock was invited along to the Rotary Club Awards Ceremony where the school was presented with a very generous cheque for £500. Thanks to the Club for their generosity.
The money will be used to help resources new maths interactive materials linked to a Curriculum for Excellence and to use on the Smart boards.

Harvest
Our harvest service will be on Friday October 8th and items collected during the weeks prior to this will be handed over to the Glasgow City Mission.
Their role in Glasgow is to support homeless people, and our contributions are very gratefully received. They help to keep stocks of food up during the winter months, and are distributed over these months to those in need.
We are delighted that we have built up this relationship over several years now, and that our parents, pupils and staff are able to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
