Welcome to Arkleston Primary School.

Welcome to our website home page.

The latest news is that our Head teacher, Mrs Irene Pollock, is taking early retirement and will finish on the 4th Janaury2012.  Mrs Margaret Brown will be the Acting Head teacher until a new Head is appointed.

As I leave Arkleston I do so with many very happy memories and record my thanks to staff, pupils and parents who have made my time here so enjoyable.

We are currently working on updating our site, so from time to time you may find some information that is not current.
Bear with us as we move to have it regularly updated by staff and pupils in the coming session.
Already there are some new pictures and information, but keep coming back to find more.

The new menu for the Dining Hall has just been posted.  Holiday dates will be posted soon(there may be alterations to these and we will let you know when we know!!)

Our Arky Album contains information and pictures of various events that have taken place over the years for you to enjoy.

Public Consultation on Requirements for Providing Information for Parents and Carers.
We have received this information on behalf of the Scottish Government to pass on to yourselves to give you the opportunity to take part in this consultation.

The Education 1982 Regulations, require education authorities to provide certain information each year to parents/carers about the school which their child attends, this is usually in the form of the school handbook.  The changes currently taking place in the 3-18 Education in Scotland through Curriculum for Excellence suggest the current requirements for the school handbook need to be refreshed.  We would welcome your views on the future requirements for providing the right kinds of information for parents and carers about their child's school.  The consultation will open in mid November and will end on 14 March 2011.
The consultation questionnaire can be accessed on;

Harvest

Our harvest service as on on Friday October 8th and items collected during the weeks prior to this will be handed over to the Glasgow City Mission.
Their role in Glasgow is to support homeless people, and our contributions are very gratefully received.  They help to keep stocks of food up during the winter months, and are distributed over these months to those in need.

We are delighted that we have built up this relationship over several years now, and that our parents, pupils and staff are able to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
